Now, 120 years later, its colossal gnarled limbs and shimmering leaves have formed an enchanting dining location. On arrival, you will be welcomed by your host with a Kangaroo Islands Spirits cocktail and a selection of canapes. You will then be invited to venture through the leafy entrance of our majestic old fig tree where it will open up into a collection of natural ‘living’ rooms, each decked out with stunning table settings ready for you to experience a magical feast of the senses. “Some say it’s a magic tree – on certain days when the wind blows and the dappled light shines through, sweet music can be heard…” Inspired by fig mythology, the island location, sea, land, and earth – our chef Stephanie Vass has handcrafted a special menu that includes a hint of local history, a splash of fairy tales, and a sprinkle of the unexpected!
